Dylan Martin

Senior Editor

Dylan Martin is a senior editor at CRN covering the semiconductor and IoT beats. Over the past five years, Dylan has distinguished his coverage of the semiconductor industry thanks to insightful interviews with CEOs and top executives; scoops and exclusives about product, strategy and personnel changes; and analyses that dig into the why behind the news.

Dylan started covering semiconductors and IoT when he joined CRN in 2018. After a stint in 2022 expanding his semiconductor industry coverage to government policy and advanced technologies at The Register, he returned to CRN in early 2023 for expanded coverage responsibilities that include a long-time interest of his: computers.

A full-time tech journalist for nearly a decade, Dylan got his first taste covering the industry as a startup reporter for BostInno, an American City Business Journals property. But even before that, Dylan took any opportunity he could to write about tech as the online editor for business journal Mainebiz and as a municipal reporter for The Forecaster newspapers in midcoast Maine.

Dylan received his B.A. in media studies from the University of Southern Maine, where he spent a great deal of his time working for the college newspaper and writing blogs about tech, music, and pop culture. His interests include spending time with his wife and daughter, tinkering with old computers, playing modern and retro video games, listening to podcasts, reading a mix of nonfiction and fiction books, watching TV shows and movies on his oversized TV, and enjoying Maine’s outdoors.
