2023 Partner Program Guide: 5-Star Distributor Programs

Keeping The Channel Moving

Distributors have always played an important role within the channel by efficiently moving products from IT manufacturers to smaller VARs and solution providers.

In recent years distributors have been expanding beyond their traditional tasks to provide their channel customers with a range of technical, marketing and financial services, education and training, and cloud subscription management assistance. They also serve an increasingly broad range of companies in the channel. And so many distributors today operate multiple partner programs to meet the diverse needs of the channel.

As part of the 2023 Partner Program Guide, CRN designates some programs as 5-Star Partner Programs because they provide the most comprehensive lineups of incentives, resources, training, services and benefits.

Program Name: Ingram Micro Trust X Alliance

Year Program Established: 1998

Most Significant Changes To Partner Program Over The Past Year: We launched and continue to innovate around Trust X Alliance’s Digital Twin EXPAND, which aligns with Ingram Micro Xvantage and interconnects our solution providers, vendors and Ingram Micro all in one place. EXPAND helps our partners achieve greater success and profitable growth through fluid and real time global community collaboration.

Program Name: Ingram Micro SMB Alliance

Year Program Established: 2011

Most Significant Changes To Partner Program Over The Past Year: Ingram Micro has extended net 45-day terms to our eligible SMB Alliance partners and introduced new, cash-flow focused financing programs specific to the recurring revenue models our channel partners are adopting. In conjunction with our vendor partners, we’ve also added more remote technical training options and sales engagement opportunities.

Program Name: Ingram Micro Cloud Security Expert Program

Year Program Established: 2020

Most Significant Changes To Partner Program Over The Past Year: Access to Ingram Micro’s on-demand learning platform with curated learning path for technical engineers to become vendor or cybersecurity-agnostically trained. Sponsored SMB workshops supporting partners in their delivery to five customers or more. Engagements are also entitled to spend per workshop completed with proof of execution. CoE delivered cybersecurity scans.

Pax8

Program Name: Pax8 Partner Program

Year Program Established: 2016

Most Significant Changes To Partner Program Over The Past Year: We continue to invest in education and enablement for our partners. In 2022, we expanded Pax8 Academy and now offer more than 500 on-demand courses, certifications, coaching and training. Today, more than 9,000 Pax8 partners are engaging with the value-added resource.
