Michael Dell: Use AI ‘Superpowers’ To ‘Reimagine Your Organization’
‘If you’re curious and like to learn, there has never been a better time to be alive, to make yourself and your organization smarter and more productive,’ Michael Dell writes in a blog post on LinkedIn.
Michael Dell isn’t done talking about AI.
Fresh off his stage appearances at Dell Technologies World last month, the Dell Technologies founder and CEO wrote in a blog posted on LinkedIn yesterday that AI’s value is in its ability to transform how organizations operate.
“The real opportunity is to reimagine your organization and what you can become given the superpowers AI unleashes,” he wrote in the post. “If you’re not applying AI across your organization and thinking deeply about reinvention, you’re already behind.”
The limitations come in two forms, he said: the ability of generative AI to produce factually incorrect answers and ways to safeguard the data that is used to create and query the systems.

“These are real dangers, and we have to manage these tools thoughtfully and responsibly,” Dell wrote. “But I’m more of an optimist. Throughout human history, we’ve successfully managed the risk of potentially existential technologies. And throughout history, technology innovation has driven human progress. From health to education to sustainability to prosperity, our largest measures of progress are bound to our innovations.”
Michael Dell wrote that in order to support the larger compute that is heading towards the edge, new architectures are needed, he said.
“We need new architectures that operate at orders of magnitude greater speed and efficiency,” he said. “There will be a significant proliferation of open and closed-source Large Language Models for specialized and general uses. They will be distributed globally. Enterprises will have many of their own private LLMs to unleash the power of their secure data.”
At Dell Technologies World, the company unveiled a partnership with Nvidia called Project Helix, on-premise compute power that is optimized to deliver generative AI training and AI inferencing. Project Helix uses a Dell XE9680 server and eight, Nvidia H100 Tensor Core GPUs to form the infrastructure backbone for its workloads.
Dell wrote that he envisions a future proliferation of open and closed-source large language models (LLMs) for specialized and general uses distributed globally. Enterprises will have many of their own private LLMs to unleash the power of their secure data.Dell said he is convinced, humans will figure out how to use AI responsibly, and use it to drive human progress.
“AI, like the PC, the internet and smartphones, will transform industries and how we live and work. If you’re curious and like to learn, there has never been a better time to be alive, to make yourself and your organization smarter and more productive,” he said. “From health to education to sustainability to prosperity, our largest measures of progress are bound to our innovations.”
