HP Promotes Twohy In Latest Technology Services Move
An HP spokesperson contacted by CRN confirmed Twohy's promotion. And Frank Rauch, vice president of channel sales for HP's Enterprise Storage Server Networking (ESSN) division, revealed the move to his followers on Twitter on Wednesday morning.
"Congratulations to my good friend Dave Twohy on his promotion to HP VP of Technology Services Global Channel Sales...Well Deserved!" Rauch tweeted.
Twohy had been Technology Services' vice president of Americas channel sales since July 2009, and his duties included managing a staff of 100 HP sales representatives in the U.S., Canada, and Central and South America.
Twohy joined HP in 2001 and has held a variety of service sales and management positions over the years, including sales vice president for U.S. corporate accounts and head of HP's U.S. mid-market teams. He also previously spent 12 years with IBM in a variety of sales and management positions.
HP CEO Leo Apotheker has made a priority of driving higher-margin services and is still looking to fill the position of executive vice president in its Enterprise Services division. In May, HP moved Technology Services into ESSN, under the leadership of Dave Donatelli, executive vice president and general manager.
Last month, Joe Bottazzi, senior vice president and general manager of HP's Technology Services Americas business and a 31-year HP veteran, left for a position outside the company. Taking his place on an interim basis is Mike Cronin, director of strategy and operations for HP's Americas Technology Services.
Antonio Neri, vice president of customer experience and warranty services in HP's Personal Systems Group and a 16-year HP veteran, took over as vice president and general manager of HP Technology Services on Aug. 1, replacing Gary Budzinski, head of HP Technology Services, who left the company in May.
