DXC Rebrands Coming Merged U.S. Government Businesses As Perspecta

DXC Technology on Thursday said it would rename its U.S. public sector business as "Perspecta" with the final launch of the new organization, slated to happen in May.

The new organization was first unveiled in October when DXC Technology revealed plans to merge its existing U.S. government business with two other companies to create a 14,000-employee public sector powerhouse with security, cloud, and analytics expertise.

Tysons, Va.-based DXC, No. 11 on the 2017 CRN Solution Provider 500, said at the time that the combination of its $2.9 billion U.S. public sector business, $1.2 billion federal government consultancy Vencore, and $300 million background investigation service provider KeyPoint will create one of the five largest pure-play U.S. government solution providers.

DXC Technology was formed in 2017 with the merger of former solution provider CSC and HPE Enterprise Services. The company in October said it would acquire both Vencore and KeyPoint.

The full merger of the three U.S. government organizations is slated to close in May. At that time, Mike Lawrie, DXC chairman, president, and CEO, will serve as chairman of Perspecta. Mac Curtis, Vencore's president and CEO, will take over as CEO of Perspecta.

The three organizations are slated to continue operating as separate organizations under their current leadership, DXC said.

A DXC spokesperson told CRN via email that the company was unable to provide additional information about Perspecta at this time.

However, Lawrie, in a statement, said Perspecta would offer a full spectrum of complementary capabilities. "With a diversified customer base, Perspecta will be an innovative leader in addressing the evolving mission needs of public sector customers," Lawrie said in the statement.
