Channel Madness Quarterfinal Results: Lenovo’s Cato, VMware’s Flinders Advance
The voting for the quarterfinal round of the CRN Channel Madness Tournament of Chiefs is closed, the scores are in, and the Enterprise Eight are about to learn their fate.
With titles up for grabs in the Infrastructure, Hardware, Cloud and Security regions, let's look at who's advancing to the Field of Four.
When we last checked in on the Hardware region matchup between Dell EMC's Joyce Mullen and Lenovo's Rob Cato, Mullen had pulled ahead with a slim lead, but over the last 24 hours of voting Cato dug deep and surged ahead, pulling out a victory with 71 percent of the vote to Mullen's 29 percent.
In the Cloud region, Veeam's Kevin Rooney tried to mount a comeback against VMware's Jenni Flinders but the gap proved insurmountable, with Flinders winning 58 percent to 42 percent.
In the Infrastructure region, NetApp's Jeff McCullough found a good game plan against Gordon Mackintosh of Extreme Networks and stuck with it, winning 56 percent to 44 percent.
And in the Security region, FireEye's Chris Carter brought the heat in his matchup against Kendra Krause of Sophos, winning 66 percent to 34 percent.
So in the Field of Four, NetApp's Jeff McCullough will meet Lenovo's Rob Cato, while VMware's Jenni Flinders will take on Fire Eye's Chris Carter.
