WATCH: Citrix Discusses New SD-WAN Offering On Google Cloud
Citrix’s Steve Blacklock, vice president of global strategic alliances, says the move will enable companies to extend their networks to the cloud and deliver applications at scale.
An increasing number of SD-WAN vendors are migrating their offerings to the public cloud. The latest example is Citrix, which is extending its SD-WAN and application delivery controller offerings to the Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
Citrix’s Steve Blacklock, vice president of global strategic alliances, said the move will enable companies to extend their networks to the cloud and deliver applications at scale
“We’ve launched our networking solutions on top of GCP. So, for customers that are either using Citrix applications or any other applications in their portfolio, they can now leverage ADC for gateway services, they can use our SD-WAN products, and they can also use CPX, which is a containerized version of NetScaler that can now run in the Kubernetes system.”
Citrix also has SD-WAN offerings on Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services, and last year VMware integrated its NSX SD-WAN offering by VeloCloud with Microsoft Azure. Prior to that, Versa Networks made its SD-WAN offering available on Amazon Web Services.
It all comes as more applications are being born in the cloud, which increases the need for secure solutions, particularly for branch offices that are accessing cloud applications over legacy WAN infrastructures.
