But by 11:37 a.m. ET, Zoom displayed a message on its service status page saying, “We have resolved the issue causing users to be unable to start and join Zoom Meetings. We will continue to monitor and provide updates as we have them.”

“Zoom’s outage derailed an event I’d been planning for weeks and for which I allowed myself to be genuinely excited. Is this how blood feuds begin?” said the Associated Press’ Mallika Sen.

Another Twitter user, Morgan Clendaniel, said: “Maybe a good way to tell whether a company actually needs to return to the office or not is whether a Zoom outage actually ruins the day or not. IMO, if you‘re having so many meetings you have other, bigger issues.”

The outage forced many events to be postponed or canceled. The Center for Ethnic Studies at Ohio State University tweeted that one of its events had to be postponed because of the outage.

Unfortunately, due to the global zoom outage, the Mia Mingus event has been postponed. Stay tuned for future scheduling announcement.
