CDI Taps Ryan Barker As VP Of Revenue Optimization
‘I am incredibly excited by this opportunity to learn and grow among some of the best in the industry,’ says Ryan Barker in a statement. ‘I have worked with CDI and the leadership team for years and look forward to surrounding myself with friends who also happen to be some of the brightest minds in tech.’
New York-based solution provider Computer Design & Integration (CDI) has named Ryan Barker as vice president of revenue optimization, tasking him with focusing on revenue generation and scale across the entire global organization.
Barker has more than 20 years of experience in the IT industry in engineering and leadership roles. He is known for building and managing successful teams from the ground up with a focus on innovation and technology-enabled business transformation.

“I love where CDI’s business model is going, the talent is off the charts and the motivated culture is second to none,” Barker told CRN. “These areas fundamentally align with my beliefs, and I’m eager to learn and help the company grow.”
In his role, Barker’s immediate focus will be to learn about how the inner company works and then pivot to leveraging his background to drive “explosive growth for the company.”
Going forward, he wants to streamline the acquisition knowledge throughout CDI for more opportunities in the future.
“There are many synergies we can take advantage of to drive differentiation and massive value into our client base,” he said. “These areas will set CDI on a growth trajectory beyond comprehension.”
Barker will work cross-functionally to build upon the success and expertise CDI has gained through hiring new talent, creating new partnerships that share the same business model and focusing on new markets to increase profitability.
“The addition of Ryan Barker to the CDI team is a huge step for us as we build our high- tech dynasty,” said Jason Kalvesmaki, chief revenue officer, in a statement. “We are excited to put Ryan’s expertise to use across all layers of our sales, presales and technical teams. Simply put, Ryan makes CDI better. His unique, proven leadership will help CDI accelerate our speed to market and further our client-first mentality,” he added.
“Ryan is a proven leader capable of building elite teams and will be essential to how we scale the organization,” said CDI COO Vince Collado. “In three years, we have more than tripled in size and will continue to build on our services and offerings. Ryan and his skill set will only add to our success, improving efficiencies across departments.”
In March, CDI promoted multiple people in its leadership team after seeing monumental growth in 2021 both organically and through acquisitions.
“I do very much still believe in a change-or-die mentality,” Rich Falcone, president and CEO of CDI, told CRN in March. “What that enables is focus and scale. All of these leaders are going to focus on their towers so they can scale them. A business needs to optimize things in order to scale, and to do that you have to focus on your tower and focus on your job at hand. Elevating everybody up is going to enable a lot of focus for each individual business unit and tower.”
