On Wednesday, Lenovo will hold its virtual Tech World event with speakers including Lenovo Chairman and CEO Yuanqing Yang and Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella.

The event also comes just weeks before Microsoft’s Windows 11 is set to go into general availability. Among the product announcements at Tech World are Lenovo laptops that will come with the new operating system.

What follows are five big product launches at Lenovo Tech World 2021.

Edge Device

At Tech World 2021, Lenovo is unveiling the forthcoming ThinkEdge SE70 (pictured above), a device focused on enabling artificial intelligence at the edge for businesses. The device uses AWS Panorama machine-learning technology and Nvidia Jetson Xavier NX processors, which offer up to 21 trillion operations per second.

The rugged device is “designed to meet the expanding intelligent transformation needs from logistics, transportation and smart cities to retail, healthcare and manufacturing,” Lenovo said in a news release.

The ThinkEdge SE70 is expected to be available during the first half of 2022 in “select markets,” Lenovo said.

Laptops

In terms of upcoming new Windows 11 laptops, Lenovo is using Tech World to showcase the IdeaPad Slim 7 Carbon and IdeaPad Slim 7 Pro.

The IdeaPad Slim 7 Carbon (pictured) will come with a 14-inch OLED display with QHD+ resolution, up to 14.5 hours of battery life and a weight of 2.37 pounds. In terms of processing power, the notebook will feature up to eight-core AMD Ryzen 7 5800U processors and AMD Radeon graphics.

The IdeaPad Slim 7 Pro offers a 16-inch IPS display with QHD resolution, up to 500 nits of brightness and a 120Hz refresh rate configuration. The laptop—which measures just 0.68 of an inch thick despite its large display size—comes with up to AMD Ryzen 7 5800H for the CPU and up to Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050 for GPU.

Lenovo is also introducing a new Chrome OS device, the IdeaPad Duet 5 Chromebook. The Chromebook will feature a 13.3-inch OLED display, up to 15 hours of battery life and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7c Gen 2 processor.

The monitor is also aimed at serving as a docking hub with three USB-A ports, one USB-C port and an Ethernet port included, in addition to HDMI and DisplayPort connections. The Thunderbolt 4 connectivity has the ability to carry up to 40Gbps of data and provide power to laptops up to 100W, Lenovo said.
