Former ShoreTel CMO Lands At Talari Networks
Gavin, who had been ShoreTel's CMO since 2007, will be responsible for strengthening Talari's brand as it moves into what the company called its "next stage of exponential growth."
"Gavin is joining the team at a time of major growth and change in the WAN industry due to the adoption of newer technologies, such as cloud computing, remote office connectivity, server consolidation and realtime applications requiring greater network reliability and performance predictability," said Talari Networks CEO Emerick Woods in a statement.

Talari Networks, founded in 2007, has carved out a unqiue place for itself in the WAN optimization space, where it considers its Adaptive Private Networking technologies to be a complement -- rather than a competitor -- to many existing WAN optimization deployments businesses already have in place.
Talari's Adaptive Private Networking products work similarly to how RAID technology is used in storage, leveraging RAID-like techniques, overlay networking and various algorithms to pull together multiple IP bandwidth sources to WAN connections, including DSL, cable and broadband.
Talari sells through the channel, with its worldwide sales organization headed by former Global IP Solutions executive Alan Waldrip.
Gavin, for his part, boasts a lengthy resume of CMO titles, from established companies and startups alike. Prior to ShoreTel, Gavin was CMO at GoBeam Communications, a PBX service provider acquired by Covad Communications in 2004. He also was CMO at InternetConnect, senior vice president of marketing at Softnet Systems, and corporate vice president of marketing and product development at Nextel Communications.
"This is an exciting time to be involved in the WAN market, in particular the performance and reliability segment," Gavin said in a statement. "I look forward to contributing to Talari's continued success in helping businesses improve WAN reliability while increasing capacity and reducing costs."
