TPx Nabs Former Spectrum Business Channel Chief As Director Of National Channel Development
TPx Communications, formerly TelePacific Communications, has brought on telecom channel veteran Greg Iuzzolino as director of national channel development.
Los Angeles-based TPx, a self-proclaimed managed services carrier, has spent the past year following its February rebranding building its channel leadership team and putting more of an emphasis on partners. The provider has recently brought on more than two dozen new channel managers and promoted several channel veterans.
Iuzzolino, an experienced channel program builder, will help TPx take its once-regional channel strategy nationwide, he told CRN.
"TPx's vision is really to use the channel to drive sales, which I thought was really interesting in addition to the focus on managed services. We are aligned heavily with partners, and I want [partners] to know who the new TPx is and what products and services we have," Iuzzolino said.
In his new role, Iuzzolino will be tasked with the strategy and development of TPx's large master agent relationships.
"My goal is to work with the leaders of the master agent organizations and focus on how we engage [with sub-agent partners] to get more mind share outside of California and across the country," Luzzolino said. "It's a real blocking-and-tackling role for me right now."
Iuzzolino previously was vice president of channel sales at Spectrum Business, formerly Charter Communications following the carrier's monster acquisition of Time Warner Cable in 2016. Iuzzolino had served as senior director of partner sales for Time Warner Cable, where he kick-started and grew the former cable provider's burgeoning channel program from scratch.
Iuzzolino will report to Jim Delis, senior vice president of national channel development, who joined TPx in May. Iuzzolino and Delis are no strangers to working together as Delis led Time Warner Cable's partner program prior to the buyout by Charter.
"Delis asked me if I wanted to help build out the great regional program TPx had, and I jumped at the chance because that's what I really enjoy doing," Iuzzolino said.
TPx has been able to branch out from its West Coast-based footprint thanks to its acquisition of East Coast-based managed services provider DSCI in 2016. As such, the provider has not only been actively working on its national presence, but has pivoted from its CLEC roots to now offering in-demand IT services such as SD-WAN and Unified Communications as a Service.
With more than 15 years of channel experience under his belt, Iuzzolino will round out TPx's channel leadership team, which includes Hilary Gadda, director of the channel partner program, and Carl Moore, director of national channel development.
Together, the three channel leaders will support TPx's master agent relationships through strategy sessions, trainings and regional lunch-and-learns between sub-agents and TPx channel managers. Iuzzolino also plans to leverage his existing master agent relationships to potentially bring on more national and regional masters.
"It's such a great greenfield opportunity for partners and for us," Iuzzolino said. "The foundation has been laid, now it's all about execution and growing sales through partners."
