Cisco DevNet Leader Susie Wee Departs For Google

Susie Wee, who incubated Cisco’s now-blossoming developer program and more than ten years leading the ecosystem, has decamped to join Google’s Core Experiences Team as VP.

Susie Wee, Cisco Systems’ enterprising DevNet leader, has left the company for Google after more than a decade with the networking giant.

Wee has joined Google as vice president within the company’s Core Experiences Team, she revealed in a LinkedIn post on Monday.

“I’m super excited to be joining a great team with the goal of creating experiences that users love across Google’s products. More to come in the near future... but first I have a lot of people to meet and new things to learn!” Wee said in her LinkedIn post on her new role.

Wee is a seasoned technology leader who incubated Cisco’s now-blossoming developer program, Cisco DevNet, while she was vice president and CTO of Networked Experiences for Cisco in 2012. She climbed up the ranks, becoming vice president and CTO and later, senior vice president and CTO of the fully-formed Cisco DevNet community. In her most recent capacity with Cisco, she served as senior vice president and general manager of DevNet Ecosystem Success.

Under her leadership, Cisco DevNet grew into a community with over 650,000 software developers and IT professionals, including both Cisco partners and customers, who are building solutions using Cisco’s platforms and APIs. She led Cisco’s Learning and Certification Business, which today includes more than 1.6 million active certified professionals holding CCIE, CCNP, and CCNA certifications, as well as the DevNet Associate and DevNet Professional certifications that were revealed in 2019. She also led Cisco’s CX Communities and Enablement group.

Prior to leading DevNet, Wee was vice president and chief technology and experience officer of Collaboration and Communication for Cisco when she started with the company in 2011.

Wee spent more than 14 years with Hewlett-Packard before her time with Cisco, most recently as the company’s CTP of client Cloud Services.

A passionate IT champion, Wee sits on the board of Analog Devices and the visiting committee of MIT’s Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Department. She also served on the non-profit board of Girls in Tech.
