Cloud security vendor Lacework, which earlier this year laid off 20 percent of its staff just six months after raising $1.3 billion in funding, Thursday said it had hired a new Americas channel chief, CFO and CMO.
Faraz Siraj, a longtime channel veteran who has worked at Code42, RSA, Cisco Systems and Sourcefire, has been tapped as Lacework’s new vice president of Americas channels, answering to Brian Lanigan, the company’s global channel chief.
San Jose, Calif.-based Lacework, founded in 2015, also named Andrew Casey, who most recently served as CFO of no-code digital adoption platform WalkMe, as the company’s new CFO. Casey replaces Mike Staiger, who left the company this past summer, a few months after Lacework laid off hundreds of workers as part of a restructuring plan to preserve cash.
Meanwhile, Meagen Eisenberg, a technology adviser and marketing chief who has previously worked for TripActions, MongoDB and other technology companies, was named Lacework’s new CMO.
Siraj and Eisenberg’s positions are newly created posts. All three of Thursday’s appointments have nothing to do with last spring’s overall restructuring plans, according to a company spokesman.
Still, the three appointments come after recent top-level executive changes at Lacework. In addition to the departure of Staiger last spring, co-CEO David Hatfield and CRO Andy Byron left the company this past fall.
Siraj’s hiring as the Americas channel chief is clearly aimed at boosting Lacework’s revenue growth in the Americas at a time when big and small companies are increasingly migrating to the cloud.
“This is all about cloud—and it‘s only going to continue to be about the cloud,” Siraj said in an interview with CRN.
Although he wouldn’t say how much of Lacework’s revenue comes via the channel, Siraj said the channel is key to the company’s growth plans.
“Our partners are the force multiplier that we would need to expand to the highest levels that we anticipate,” he said. “My top initiatives right now are to ensure partner profitability. … I really believe that we have a tremendous opportunity given the technology that we have and the growth trajectory that we have as a company.”
Siraj said one of the biggest challenges he’ll be facing is listening to customers and making sure Lacework can provide them with the “right security solutions for today’s environment.”
In a statement issued to CRN, Lanigan, Lacework’s global channel chief, said he’s excited about the Siraj hiring.
“Faraz has fantastic experience building channel ecosystems by leveraging a metric-driven approach that delivers profitable businesses for all parties,” he said. “We are excited he’s joined the Lacework family to help deepen our relationships with our valued channel partners”
Casey and Eisenberg could not be reached for comment.
In separate press releases, Jay Parikh, CEO of Lacework, heaped praise on his new CFO and CMO.
“Andrew brings deep financial and operational understanding [to Lacework],” said Parikh. “This breadth of experience will be critical not only for helping to lead Lacework through our next phase of growth, but also in building strong partnerships with our customers.”
As for Eisenberg, Parikh said she “deeply understands the customer-centric mindset that is crucial to our success.“
