C-Suite Spotlight: Malwarebytes Marcin Kleczynski On Creating A Malware-Free Society
Malwarebytes CEO Marcin Kleczynski founded his company from his college dorm with the mission to create a malware-free society. Recently, Kleczynski sat down with CRNtv to discuss how his company remains true to that mission 10 years later.
’Many people turn to Malwarebytes after their anti-virus has failed," said Kleczynski.
Malwarebytes is an endpoint security company. The technology protects against threats such as malware, ransomware and exploits that escape detection by traditional antivirus solutions.
’Trying to be cutting-edge and making sure we can detect everything and remediate it adequately is really the hardest thing about running a security company,’ he said.
During the past 12 months, Malwarebytes experienced a seven-fold increase in large enterprise customers. On May 24, the company announced the acquisition of Binisoft, a privately-held Romanian company that created Windows Firewall Control to improve how the product is managed and USB Flash Drives Control to regulate how USB removable drives are used.
’The days of writing signatures for your anti-virus are long gone. Now, we are trying to stay on top of things by using anomaly detection and then trying to bring that back home and understand what’s happening in the threat landscape,’ said Kleczynski.
Recently, Gartner named Malwarebytes as a "visionary" in the 2018 Magic Quadrant for Endpoint Protection Platforms. Kleczynski has also been named one of Forbes Magazine’s ’30 Under 30’ Rising Stars of Enterprise Technology. For more of his interview, watch CRNtv’s ’C-Suite Spotlight’ video.
