The 2025 Security 100

The 2025 CRN Security 100 highlights channel-friendly cybersecurity vendors across a number of market segments, ranging from the largest and best-known players to some of the small-but-promising startups.

While surveying the thousands of cybersecurity tools currently available on the market, solution providers are increasingly looking for the leading-edge offerings that will help them

differentiate themselves. At solution provider powerhouse Trace3, for instance, Jason Berland aims to evaluate at least one new technology every month. In part this is because Trace3 wants to have partnerships in place with the top vendors “if that technology gets hot,” said Berland, senior practice director of identity and access management at Irvine, Calif.-based Trace3, No. 34 on CRN’s Solution Provider 500 for 2024. “But we also want to make sure that those technologies are sound and [that we understand] the difference between those and the ones that are currently out there.”

It’s no easy task, however. Even with the recent flurry of consolidation activity in the security industry, the market remains highly fragmented: Online database CyberDB has a current tally of 3,500 security vendors offering 6,500 products across 150 categories.

To help with navigating the terrain, the CRN Security 100 highlights partner-friendly security vendors across key industry segments including endpoint and managed security; identity, access and data security; network security; security operations, risk and threat intelligence; and web, email and application security.

Our list includes established industry giants alongside fast-growing startups that are shaking up the market with the help of partners. In many categories, the surging adoption of GenAI looms large, both for bolstering cyber defense and in terms of protecting against intensifying AI-powered attacks. Other key themes this year include the rising demand for improved defense against identity-based attacks and software supply chain risks, as well as a continued focus on data security.

Without a doubt, there’s a growing need to ensure that data—especially the data leveraged by AI models—is protected from breaches as well as misuse, said Justin Flynn, senior director for cybersecurity professional services at Stratascale, a subsidiary of Somerset, N.J.-based SHI International, No. 13 on CRN’s Solution Provider 500 for 2024. To do so effectively entails everything from data discovery and classification to “making sure that only certain people have access to the right types of data, including the AI models,” Flynn said.

“I think that’s going to be the thing for [2025]—not just protecting against data breaches, but [against] data within an organization being accessed in the wrong ways,” he said.

On the whole for 2025, research firm Gartner has forecast that global spending on information security will reach $212 billion, climbing 15.1 percent from last year. Security services will see the largest increase, rising 15.6 percent to $86.07 billion this year, while security software will generate 15.1 percent growth and reach $100.69 billion, according to the Gartner estimates. Network security spending will continue to see vigorous growth as well, with spending expected to increase by 13.1 percent to reach $24.79 billion, Gartner has forecast.

In this ever-dynamic environment, this year’s Security 100 list includes the vendors CRN believes represent the largest opportunities for solution providers in 2025, based upon CRN’s research and interviews over the past year with a wide array of top solution provider executives, vendor CEOs and channel chiefs.

While far from being an exhaustive list of the security vendors that matter for the channel right now, our goal is to have this list be useful to solution providers that focus on the cybersecurity market.
