7 Hot New Cloud Computing Offerings To Check Out Now
It's Cloud Expo Time
This week, Santa Clara, Calif., is the place to be if you have your head in the clouds. As the West Coast version of the Cloud Expo takes over the city. And a host of cloud computing players are showcasing new and exciting products on the expo floor.
Here's a look at some that caught our eye.
Nuvio NuvioIQ
Nuvio pulled the curtain off of its cloud computing infrastructure play, dubbed NuvioIQ, which lets private cloud operators deploy voice services to their end customers. NuvioIQ is a turnkey offering for cloud providers and operators that want to deploy hosted PBX, trunking and disaster recovery solutions to new and current customers. Cloud operators can deploy locally based voice services that reside in their data center. NuvioIQ determines which traffic is local and should remain within the cloud operator's network, and which needs to securely route over Nuvio's network to the legacy telephone network.
The NuvioIQ offering will be sold as a complete managed infrastructure product based on utilizing a NuvioCI cluster at the customers data center.
Hubspan WebSpan Analytics
Cloud-based business integration solutions player Hubspan launched its new WebSpan Analytics offering at Cloud Expo this week. The new business intelligence tool is part of Hubspan's flagship WebSpan SaaS Integration Platform. WebSpan Analytics is a self-service, on-demand BI offering that lets customers analyze and report on data capture from B2B integration processes and also lets them access trend data around transactional volumes, top message sand connections, message status and other critical information.
Compuware CloudSleuth
Compuware's CloudSleuth isn't a product. It's a community. Compuware is billing CloudSleuth as the industry's only partner-driven free cloud community, where anyone can monitor the application performance and availability of cloud service providers using real-time data. The free tool is designed for anyone considering deploying or managing cloud applications.
Abiquo 1.7
Cloud management player Abiquo launched version 1.7 of its offering adding in advanced business policy controls that let enterprises allocate VMs based on multiple business and IT considerations like security, compliance, energy saving and costs, as well as utilization, from a single console. This is different from most competitors, which offer fixed allocation models.
Abiquo .7 also includes the ability to set a broader range of resource limits applied at the physical data center, virtual enterprise and virtual data center levels; and deeper integration with VMware's vMotion, DRS and HA functionality.
AppZero
AppZero took Cloud Expo by storm with a host of new releases.
First, AppZero detailed the upcoming release of version 4.6, which is scheduled for December. The new version widens AppZero's Windows and Linux support for OS-free application virtualization to include platform coverage for Windows Server, XP, Windows 2003, Vista, Windows 2008, Windows 2008 R2 and Windows 7; Windows Desktop XP, Vista and Windows 7; Linux releases 4.0, 5.4 and 5.5; and Solaris 2.6, 2.7, 8, 9 and 10.
The company also detailed a new ISV Accelerator program and unveiled a new partnership with StoneWare, which is adding AppZero to its portfolio for clients that want to virtualize Windows desktop applications.
Hexagrid Service Provider Adoption Program
Hexagrid Computing, a developer of IaaS cloud computing solutions, showcased its new Service Provider Adoption Program. The program leverages Hexagrid's VxDatacenter SPE to give service providers the tools needed to rapidly deploy and start offering IaaS cloud computing services to their customers in as little as four hours.
Using Hexagrid's VxDatacenter platform, enterprises can implement a secure private cloud and service providers can deploy and monetize multi-tenant branded IaaS cloud computing services. VxDatacenter enables the provisioning of virtual machines and end-to-end computing resource management of essential computing components. VxDatacenter features multi-tenant/multi-tiered organizational anywhere access, comprehensive audit logs and usage reporting, complex network topology, self-provisioning, and can be deployed and scaled in minimal time.
Kaavo IMOD Platform
Cloud management software maker Kaavo showcased its IMOD Platform, which offers one-click deployment, scheduling and automation and best practice templates. The company also recently announced that IMOD now makes it easy to publish and share System Definitions for deploying and managing simple single server or complex multi-server, multi-tier applications and workloads.
