Hewlett Packard Enterprise’s GreenLake Cloud Services Commercial Business is being fully integrated into the overall organization in order to take the business to the “next level,” said HPE CEO Antonio Neri in a blog post.

“We are now fully integrating the organization into the core operations of the company,” said Neri in a blog post. “Doing so will enable us to integrate the deep HPE GreenLake subject matter expertise and capabilities into our core teams as the HPE GreenLake platform continues to be the center of HPE’s strategy.”

HPE Executive Vice President and GreenLake General Manager Keith White, who led the charge on building out an extensive GreenLake partner ecosystem, will soon be named to a new role.

“We are so fortunate to have Keith leading the team through this transition while engaging with our customers and partners,” said Neri. “We value his deep expertise and expect to announce his new role soon.”

Neri credited White, a former Microsoft cloud computing superstar who played a critical role in HPE GreenLake cloud services buildout, for taking the business from “incubation to the heart of everything we do” at HPE. He said White, who joined HPE nearly three years ago, “laid out a bold, customer-centric strategy for HPE GreenLake that changed how we take our solutions to market.”

The GreenLake commercial team will move into respective aligned areas across Global Sales, Global Operations, HPE Pointnext Technology Services, and HPE GreenLake Cloud Services Solutions, said Neri.

The HPE GreenLake integration comes with HPE GreenLake set to hit $1 billion in annual recurring revenue (ARR) in the fiscal year ended Nov. 1 with a total contract value of $7.7 billion.

HPE expects GreenLake ARR to grow at a compound annual growth rate of 35 percent to 45 percent from fiscal year 2022 to fiscal year 2025.

Paul Cohen, vice president of sales for PKA, one of HPE’s top GreenLake partners, said the decision to integrate GreenLake into the core HPE business is a vote of confidence in the partners like PKA that have bet big on GreenLake.

“As I’ve said over the past few years, we recognized the overwhelming value of positioning GreenLake from the beginning,” he said. “As HPE invested and evolved the GreenLake platform, we were along for the journey. We grew our PKASolveIT managed services business, realized incredible growth, and continued to invest in our own GreenLake offer. Clearly, we made the right decision as HPE is now integrating GreenLake into their entire core operations. We look forward to continuing our rapid growth, building our annuity business and expanding our Everything-as-a-Service business along with HPE and GreenLake.”

PKA, which has closed a number of high-profile GreenLake deals including Trinchero Family Estates in Napa Valley, one of the largest family-owned vineyards in the world, has a growing GreenLake pipeline, said Cohen. “We have many GreenLake success stories and are looking forward to another record year in 2023,” he said.

GreenLake had “appropriately been a standalone business,” but now as an “industry-leading capability will be ingrained into everything we do,” said Neri.

“We have fantastic momentum and have grown our as-a-service business into a market-leading position to bring the modern cloud experience to our customers where they need it,” said Neri. “Today, among our top 100 HPE customers, nearly 80 percent have already adopted the HPE GreenLake platform, which enables more than 120,000 users, powers more than two million connected devices, and manages more than one exabyte of data. Customers receive industry-leading operational support and managed services experiences, resulting in a 96 percent customer retention rate.”

Neri said he remains “incredibly proud” of the actions taken with GreenLake to transform HPE. “Our evolution to a platform-based model is delivering results for our customers,” he said. “The potential for HPE GreenLake is just beginning, and I look forward to continued success as we work with our customers and partners around the globe to drive insights and deliver business outcomes.”
